The Cross River University of Technology, (CRUTECH), held her 6th to 10th convocation in the school premises a few days back and are now opting for a name change.
Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, Vice Chancellor of the university, who made this known during the pre-convocation briefing at the Senate Chambers of the institution said they will be effecting a name change by dropping “technology” in her current name to enable them expand.
The new name will simply be Cross River State University and he explained that it would afford more Nigerians the opportunity of acquiring quality education in different fields.
Adding, “5000 students will now be enrolled as against 3,500. The additional 1,500 more students will now be admitted because of our expansion initiative which is why the “technology” in the name of the school will be dropped.”
